The days of suffering through boring, hearty and outdated rounds of maki are over, thanks to the recent influx of terrific Japanese creations, introduced by the country’s newly self-elected Karate kids, the Khoueiry’s.
Their latest signature, Jap, has already elevated the luxurious Asian cuisine, bringing an A-game of stellar Japanese rolls, fresh raw fish delicacies and a widely imported sake selection to the Lebanese coasts!
At Jap, appetizers offer the complexity of entrees, namely warm edamame and edamame Diablo, popcorn shrimps, lollipop chicken wings, Ebi-Abo & Shake-Abo salads.
You’ll also find incredibly melt-in-your-mouth, super-premium salmon sashimi with ponzu sauce and hamachi in yuzu ponzu sauce. Beyond the raw, Chef Masato’s crew has skills on the grill, forging on with dishes like the calamari robata and yaki-soba noodles.
The ginger tempura ice cream and soft Mochi assortments all make an appearance, and they’re all robust and satisfying.
But ultimately this is a place where subtle food wins.
