Let’s cut the crap.
There’s only a couple of reasons to come to The Italian Project, a newly opened restaurant which took over the location where charming Les Fenetres once captured my heart: their dreamy (yet mushy) risotto selection and innovative cocktails.
I know you might find this an exaggerated take on things, but there isn’t much left of the chef’s talents to enjoy there. Starters like the marinated salmon, mozarella in carrozza, bresaola and vitello tonato were of average taste. I mean they’re as good as Mrs. Weasley’s plum cake. Right Harry?
Of course pizzas had to find their way in there , so we’ve been graced by the presence of the carpaccio and vegetarian ones. The rest of the meal was a big draw – three dishes, consisting of pumpkin & truffle, seafood or trofie risottos.
You’ll need to be patient and reserve far in advance to get one of the few tables outside (because according to the manager, self-centered Mr. Malfoy: “we’re full and we shall hopefully always be”), and once you get in the service isn’t that charming, rather disarmingly pushy.
