A quick rundown of what went during my dinner with Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge of two Michelin-starred Bord’Eau, Amsterdam, an outstanding restaurant that rarely misses a beat and has convincingly fulfilled its promise.
Bord’Eau, a Two-Michelin starred restaurant located at Hotel De L’Europe in Amsterdam, boasts a unique rustic chic décor and sparkling views over the historic center of the city. The restaurant showcases the core flavors of every ingredient by using the best products and composes true, pure and natural tastes. With over 850 wine labels Bord’Eau is honored by Wine Spectator 2017 for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.
With beautiful views over the Amstel River, the Private Dining Room of Bord’Eau is the ideal location to dine in an intimate setting. This unique experience starts with a special selection of amuses followed by a menu with the signature dishes of Bord’Eau composed by Executive Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge.
Refined and great, or refined (culinary) violence is the best way to describe this wonderful restaurant. The chef pleases his demanding audience with noble products in dishes that fit perfectly into the zeitgeist. Ready for a culinary eye-opener? Then go for the Famous apple dessert: reconstructed apple with blown sugar a core of apple sorbet, apple seeds of chocolate, a tart with marinated granny smith and caramel, a delicious hit!
Bord’Eau is open from Tuesday through Saturday; Lunch: Tuesday – Friday from 12noon until 2:30PM; Dinner: Tuesday – Saturday from 6:30PM until 10:30PM.
